Rock CIty

Today, on our way out of Chattanooga, we stopped by Rock City. It is an incredible display of natural rocks, ravines and an incredible view of the Smoky Mountains. This entry will be more of a photo album than anything else, I just don't have anything interesting to say today.....

From this point looking out, you can actually see 7 different states.

While we were in Chattanooga (this is a side note, I forgot to write it yesterday) we rode a public trolley to get around the downtown area. Halie was Miss Chatty and would talk it up with almost anyone sitting anywhere close to her. It made everyone smile. Then, she decided to start talking to the man at the back of the bus. He was very nice, but I'm not sure that he wasn't homeless. She was talking to him about her time at the aquarium and was asking him if he had ever gone before, he had. She was so excited about the butterfly room and told him she got to hold one of the butterflies. He told her he had never gotten to do that, she proceeded to ask him if it was because of his "crazy hair" (he had quite the wild hair do), he just chuckled.
Rock City was a nice way to end our time in Tennessee. We loaded up in the car and headed to North Carolina. Talk about another amazing drive! Breathtaking! We arrived in Asheville tonight, checked into our hotel and made it downtown to eat. We found out that parking can be an issue in downtown Asheville, not a fun thing to find out at 7:30 with 4 starving people. Our first impression of Asheville was not quite what we expected it to be. We had heard wonderful things from everyone before coming. The scenery is beautiful, but the downtown area, which is all we have seen, reminds us of Portland, which we weren't real big fans of. We are hooking up with one of my college roommates tomorrow who lives here and loves it, so hopefully we will get a different perspective tomorrow.
